In previous articles I where talking about the Nintendo Switch and Smach Z, where I said that Nintendo Switch is going to be a really awesome console, since you can take it with you and play your games also on the go, which was only possible with handheld consoles like Nintendo 3DS or PS Vita, but now we have also to take into consideration the Smach Z, which is soon to be released and offers the exact option I mentioned in my Nintendo Switch post, that it works with the Steam OS, offering with this an universe of more then 10000 games to play with, where Nintendo Switch still keeps short.
Sure Nintendo Switch has his unique games like Mario, Smash, Zelda, etc, but like I told your guys before in the Nintendo Switch post, that the Switch would be the perfect console if Nintendo also would partner with Valve ( Steam Platform ), since with this, they would have the ton of games and also their exclusive available on the Switch.
For hardware, we still have to less information about the Nintendo Switch to be sure about which of the 2 are the better option to choose, but with the hardware indications of Smach Z, one thing results pretty interesting to me, and that is the battery, since they announced it with a total capacity of 5 hours of game play, which in my eye’s is a great time frame for a handheld console with the capacity to play full AAA PC games, her Nintendo, should see that they equal this or even make it better, because if not that would be a let down in any way possible, or at least that’s what I think.
Smach Z and Nintendo Switch, both come with a 4GB RAM, but the Smach Z has a pro version where you can get a upgrade to 8GB RAM and also it’s DDR4 RAM, where in Nintendo Switch, we only have speculations still that it’s 4GB RAM, but with no info to the RAM version, DDR3 or DDR4?
About the screen resolution, we saw in the video that they had 720 HD with the Nintendo Switch and in the video of Smach Z a max of 1080 HD, where the Smach Z also showed the frame rates in the video on the Gamescom playing some games like The Elder Scrolls – Skyrim and Metro: Last Night with some pretty good resolution and frame rates in between 28-42 per second, which for a handheld is something pretty great.
On both you will be able to play multiplayer games, but only with the Nintendo Switch it will be possible to play on the same console without a second one near by needed, so several people can play together, which is for me a big plus for Nintendo!
The final price is to be probably really similar with each console since they are going to be both at the range of 300 – 400 US$.
Finally to take into consideration what we know until now is not something, where we can discard the Nintendo Switch already because the real hardware specs and exact information’s of the Nintendo Switch are still to be released by the 12th of January, for which we have still much time to speculate and to take into consideration, but Nintendo always has something in their sleeves!
I personally would like to have both, but if Nintendo makes a deal with Valve and incorporates the Steam platform in any way into their OS, I think that this would make me consider to go with Nintendo, instead of Smach Z.
Any comments or thought’s about this, please let me know in any of my social medias.
